Hogan's Party at Mom's

Last night we celebrated H's b-day at my mom's house. We had so much fun. I haven't seen my parents in soooo long since we have been so busy the last several weeks so it was very good to see them. Hogan got a fishing pole and tackle box from mom and dad. But the kicker is that the fishing pole is a "gun" and when you push the trigger it shoots the line out over 30 feet. Pretty cool huh? We also let him open one of his gifts from us. He got to open his Red Ryder BB gun. He loved it just a little. He went from shooting his fishing pole to his gun then back to his pole. He couldn't decide which one he wanted to shoot. Anyway, we had a blast and I enjoyed getting to see my parents again.

Dias tres - ciete en San Antonio

Hola! No I've not turned spanish, although we heard more Spanish spoken in San Antonio then when we went to Can Cun- go figure.  Anyway, sorry for the delay in posts.  The "free" internet service was lacking in the "service" part.  I couldn't get my pics to transfer onto my blog so I thought I would just wait until I got back.  Anyway,  we had sooooo much fun.  On Monday we went to Sea World.  Wow! what a great time we had.  Here are some pics from there.

On Tuesday we decided to take it easy after our insanely crazy day at Sea World, so we went and sketched all of the missions.  Here are some fun pics from this day.

Wednesday we hung out with a friend that Embree met in the hotel named Conception.  We all trucked over to the Grand Hyatt to their pool since our pool was "under renovation" (nice that they emailed us this info after we had already booked and reserved our rooms 2 months earlier and they didn't bother to tell us until one day before we left).   We stayed there most of the day and went back to our hot tub that night. Sorry, no pics available for this day.

Thursday we decided to go golfing for the day.  That was hooooot!  Hogan was soooo cute and poor Embree would liked to have been anywhere else other than there.  I got some cute pics of this day!

On Friday, our last full day, we went to Government Canyon, a natural canyon area where the architectural firm Lake Flato designed a really cool building for the guest area.  We did some hiking there.  That was fun for G and I but the kids (mainly H) complained of being hot.  We hiked there for about 45 min which was great considering we were all wearing flip flops. Here were some pics we took.

Well this was our trip to San Antonio.  We had so much fun and I hope you enjoyed the pics as much as we enjoyed taking them.  At the end of almost everyday the kids went up to the roof of our hotel where the pool/hot tub were and they swam in the hot tub until it closed at 10pm. We do have pics of that too.  Here they are and until next time- adios!!

2nd Day in San Antonio

Hola from San Antonio.  We have experienced our 2nd day in the city and what a great day it was.  We walked ALOT today.  We walked to the mall to get E's nails done and then to the tower of the Americas.  That was cool!  Then we walked to a park where the kids played, then to some shops, and then back to the hotel where we went to the gym and go our exercise on. (you should have seen H on the treadmill up to the highest elevation holding on for dear life-so cute).  Now we're off to eat dinner at an italian restaurant for Embree as she is already tired of mexican and we've only ate it once (boy is she in for a surprise!)  Anyway, here are some pics of us and the kids today. Hope you enjoy!

Hola from San Antonio

Hello everyone.  We finally arrived in San Antonio around 3pm today.  Wow!  We are soooo excited.  We can't wait till tomorrow so that we can really do something.  Let's see- we started off spending 50 bucks before we even drove a mile away from home.  (We thought about cutting our losses then but decided to truck on).  The kids and I spent the first 3 hours enjoying the back of our eyelids while poor G had to drive.  We stopped right after that to stretch our legs and get some drinks then we were back on the road.  We then arrived at Georgetown, Texas at around noon and we found a Golden Chick so we ate their for g-ma and g-pa (it was super-dee-duper!)  Then onward to Asstown- I mean Austin  to see the state capital.  Despite sucking in that awful air we pushed through it to get some great pics!
After our  trip to the capital we headed for San Antonio where the air is a little bit cleaner (it's still in Texas).  We arrived around 3pm.  Geoff checked us in and we rested in the room for about 30 min.  But as our excitement level increased we could no longer contain ourselves and we had to go walking around.  We walked the riverwalk for a while, then we decided to take a boat tour.  After our tour we walked over to the Alamo from our hotel which all three of my children drew.  We then went back to the hotel and then back to the riverwalk to eat dinner out by the water.  It was a bunch of fun.  We have now retired to the room to regroup, get some sleep, and energize ourselves to go out and conquer Texas once again tomorrow.  Until then, enjoy these pics!!

p.s.--I guess it's true when they say that everything is bigger in Texas!
