2nd Day in San Antonio

Hola from San Antonio.  We have experienced our 2nd day in the city and what a great day it was.  We walked ALOT today.  We walked to the mall to get E's nails done and then to the tower of the Americas.  That was cool!  Then we walked to a park where the kids played, then to some shops, and then back to the hotel where we went to the gym and go our exercise on. (you should have seen H on the treadmill up to the highest elevation holding on for dear life-so cute).  Now we're off to eat dinner at an italian restaurant for Embree as she is already tired of mexican and we've only ate it once (boy is she in for a surprise!)  Anyway, here are some pics of us and the kids today. Hope you enjoy!

Hola from San Antonio

Hello everyone.  We finally arrived in San Antonio around 3pm today.  Wow!  We are soooo excited.  We can't wait till tomorrow so that we can really do something.  Let's see- we started off spending 50 bucks before we even drove a mile away from home.  (We thought about cutting our losses then but decided to truck on).  The kids and I spent the first 3 hours enjoying the back of our eyelids while poor G had to drive.  We stopped right after that to stretch our legs and get some drinks then we were back on the road.  We then arrived at Georgetown, Texas at around noon and we found a Golden Chick so we ate their for g-ma and g-pa (it was super-dee-duper!)  Then onward to Asstown- I mean Austin  to see the state capital.  Despite sucking in that awful air we pushed through it to get some great pics!
After our  trip to the capital we headed for San Antonio where the air is a little bit cleaner (it's still in Texas).  We arrived around 3pm.  Geoff checked us in and we rested in the room for about 30 min.  But as our excitement level increased we could no longer contain ourselves and we had to go walking around.  We walked the riverwalk for a while, then we decided to take a boat tour.  After our tour we walked over to the Alamo from our hotel which all three of my children drew.  We then went back to the hotel and then back to the riverwalk to eat dinner out by the water.  It was a bunch of fun.  We have now retired to the room to regroup, get some sleep, and energize ourselves to go out and conquer Texas once again tomorrow.  Until then, enjoy these pics!!

p.s.--I guess it's true when they say that everything is bigger in Texas!

Memorial Weekend at the Lake

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend.  I know we did.  Geoff took the kids on Thursday and I went with dad on Saturday night (we had to go to my cousin Sean's graduation on Saturday).  So when we arrived every one was in bed and Geoff started a fire for us outside-isn't he so sweet.  It rained off and on the entire weekend so we had to have fun at the lake house.  We found lots of ways to fill the time and we had a great time despite all of the boat ramps being closed due to the high lake level.  Here are some pics of our fantastically fun weekend!

Here is what we did most of the weekend.

We let Aylee man the fire. She is not too young is she?

We hunted for lizards.  We actually found three of them which we opted to let free before we went home.
We also got some target practice in.  You can never start them too young.
We had lots of fun with bubbles.
This is how we got our swim on!
And we all had fun just MONKEYING around!!!

I didn't "technically" lie

So I know I said no more changes but lets face it, I LOVE changing things.  I'm kinda flaky like that.  And if you read my blog closely I did say maybe. Anyway, I have eaten more cupcakes since I had my old blog up than I have in my lifetime-NO JOKE!!!  And it is seriously cutting into my "healthy eating plan".  So anyway I love this new one.  It is so fun and there is no food to tempt me.  On to another subject, today was Embree's last day of school (yea for me).  She won a character award for deference and she was on the headmaster's honor roll for straight A's which she did NOT get from her mother.  I am so proud of her.  Surprisingly she did not have perfect attendance which she DID get from her mother (her mother is also the one to blame for HER attendance record as well).  We can't be perfect at everything can we? I will post some pics at the end of this post for you to see.  I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday-I know I have.

What A Difference A Day Makes

So thanks for all of your support and empathy during my ranting yesterday.  In case you were wondering I was having a bad day and just wanted someone to suffer with me.  So as the title says today is a new day.  The day started off wonderfully. I was able to get my nails done and if that wasn't good enough, my hair stylist showed up with a free schedule and was able to do my hair.  But I haven't told you the most incredible part--I had Hogan with me in the salon for OVER FOUR HOURS and I never even had to tell him to stop or behave.  (Thank you God!)  So even though my day was crazy again trying to organize the party tomorrow and going to practice and getting Embree shoes for tomorrow and getting cupcakes for the party and answering 50 emails and phone calls and trying to fit in time with the family and at some point baths for the kids (and hopefully myself)-oh yeah I guess I have to feed the dogs too; but in the midst of all this I have had a great day.  Maybe it was the nails or it could be the new hair or it could have been  just a change in attitude. I believe that the verse is sooo true that He will not give you more than you can handle (although I got close yesterday).  So tomorrow is the last day of school and the party which I have to put together  and then Thursday G and the kids leave for the lake after Hogan's t-ball game, my dad comes in Friday for my cousin's graduation, we leave for the lake Saturday for Memorial, and sometime between all of this Hogan needs his shots.  Although my week doesn't get any less busy, I will just try to remember to lean on God and that He won't give me any more than I can handle.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

TODAY HAS GOT TO BE A MONDAY! IS IT HUH IS IT? WHAT A CRAZY DAY I HAVE HAD TODAY. LET'S SEE WE DIDN'T GET HOME FROM THE LAKE LAST NIGHT (OR SHOULD I SAY THIS MORNING) AND WE DIDN'T GET THE KIDS IN BED UNTIL AROUND MIDNIGHT. THEN WE HAD TO GET READY FOR BED. THEN, I HAD TO WAKE GRUMPY UP AT 7 THIS MORNING TO GET READY FOR SCHOOL (YOU CAN DECIDE WHO GRUMPY IS- ME OR EMBREE). THEN I GOT HOME GOT TO VEG FOR ABOUT 1 HOUR BEFORE I HAD TO START GETTING READY FOR A PARTY TODAY FOR ME AND ANOTHER LADY. I HAD TO RUSH TO G'S OFFICE, DROP OFF HOGAN, THEN DASH TO SCHOOL FOR THE PARTY. NOW THE PARTY WAS A FUN PART OF THE DAY. THEN I GOT EMBREE FROM SCHOOL, RUSHED TO GET HOGAN FROM G THEN BACK HOME TO GET THE BILLS WRITTEN, THE DOGS FED, AND THE HOUSE "PICKED UP" BEFORE I HAD TO RUSH OUT THE DOOR TO TAKE HOGAN TO T-BALL PRACTICE. THEN WE GOT TO GO GET FOOD FOR EVERYONE BEFORE I GOT TO GO HOME IN TIME TO FEED TO FAM, WASH THE KIDS, AND DO THE LAUNDRY. I KNOW I KNOW THIS IS EVERYONE'S LIFE BUT IT JUST SEEMED SO OVERWHELMING TO ME TODAY. THEN AFTER THE KIDS GOT TO BED I GOT TO EMAIL EVERYONE OF MY PARENTS IN EMBREE'S CLASS ABOUT THE PARTY THAT I AM HAVING TO PUT TOGETHER ON WEDNESDAY. OKAY SO I RANTED TODAY SORRY I JUST NEEDED TO GET IT OUT. THANKS FOR BEING MY SOUNDING BOARD. HOPEFULLY THE NEXT BLOG WILL BE MUCH HAPPIER.
